Making Lewes is a festival of making, architecture, and sustainable design. 

UWE sponsored a limited number of students to attend Making Lewes 2014.
The event on September 18th - 21st included a fantastic spectrum of activities: The Bio-base exhibition [the latest in renewable, natural building materials including timber, reed thatch, chalk, flint and seaweed], Local Makers exhibition, talks, building visits, workshops, films, and a four-day mini Design & Make  workshop with William Hardie's studio.

Speakers included: Ian MacKay [BBM], Jonathan Fovargue [Eurban], Nozomi Nakabayashi [AA Big Shed], David Saunders & Steve Johnson, Soren Nielsen [Vand Kunsten], Robin Hillier {Segal self-build], Vigdis Haugtro [Eco Pallet House in Trondheim}, Kristoffer Tejlgaard [21st Centry Geodesic Domebuilding]…..and more!
